Do You Remember
When We Fell In Love
We Were Young
And Innocent Then
Do You Remember
How It All Began
It Just Seemed Like Heaven
So Why Did It End?

Do You Remember
Back In The Fall
We’d Be Together
All Day Long
Do You Remember
Us Holding Hands
In Each Other’s Eyes
We’d Stare
Tell Me

Do You Remember The Time
When We Fell In Love

  1. Remembrance of time gone past
    Ere winters solemn icy blast
A summer time when all was well
    Caught before Autumns spell

Our words would burst like springtime showers
    Ricochetting in the night
    At most untimely hours
Like flocks of startled birds in flight

But time it is no pleasant host
It cuts the cloth for all to see
For I am just an ancient ghost
to never be as young as thee

      • I’ve read about the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-78.. but i had no idea they were so significant for the bulgarians..
Does bulgaria still have any remnants of its ottoman heritage?

      • Sure it has. 500 years of ottoman rule have left a big mark on our culture and it can be seen to this day. Bulgaria has a very interesting, extensive and sometimes very sad history.

      • Well, during the Ottoman rule most of the local population gradually lost its distinct national consciousness. In the 18th century, the Enlightenment in Western Europe provided influence for the initiation of a movement known as the National awakening of Bulgaria. It restored national consciousness and became a key factor in the liberation struggle, resulting in the 1876 April Uprising. Up to 30,000 Bulgarians were killed as Ottoman authorities put down the rebellion. The massacres prompted the Great Powers to take action. Then after liberating Bulgaria, The Great Powers decided that they couldn’t allow for such big country to exist in the Balkans and divided it in 3, leaving one part back to the Ottoman Empire. Nice move, right? Than we were on the losing side in both World Wars and after that subjected to incompetent and mostly corrupted rule till this day. So this is Bulgaria’s sad history 101

      • Hmm.. I’ve heard bout the “mostly being on the losing side of the war” story.. thats a bummer.. but the fact remains that the ottoman empire itself had a very sad and dismal end.. thanks to the brits.. they were the americans of the 18th century.. fucking up the world..

Bulgarian authorities can’t be as corrupt as ours.. Despite having sooo much wealth and being the worlds largest consumer of gold consistently for decades.. Our currency is among the weakest in the world..

      • Oh believe me they are. There were riots all over the country till a week or so for that precise reason, and we were left without a government for a while. I just hope things will start to get better after the elections that have to happen in April.

      • There’s the silver lining! at least people are revolting..!
We have such a diverse populace, each segment lamenting their own problems.. that its very tough to bring about a consensus and revolt.. 😦

      • I see the problem. It’s similar here, although Bulgaria is a rather smaller country. Maybe people just had enough and decided to take matters in their own hands.

      • Maybe its cause we were under just 200years of foreign rule.. so we’re still lagging by 300years in nationalistic fervor.. πŸ™‚
