Boooo: creative, funny or scary on Halloween

Symbolizing and celebrating the line  between fall and winter, plenty and paucity, life and death, Halloween is a holiday of fun and superstition. It has its roots in the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, which included people lighting bonfires and wearing costumes to keep off the roaming ghosts.  Now Halloween is all about gatherings, costumes and sweet treats.

Here in Bulgaria young people started celebrating a few years back, so we’re still new at this. I was searching the Internet and I found some amazing costumes and great ideas. If I wasn’t going down with a cold I’d make sure to try to challenge some of these:

G for Graffiti

About a month ago me and the significant other went to a pretty awesome event here in Sofia. It’s called on!fest and it features activities from computer and board games, music and dance to extreme sports and street art. Sure I was drawn most to the graffiti and now’s the time to share the amazing work of the 20 local and international geniuses.

One Year of WordPressing

Image

Ok, so I’ll try not to make it sappy, but I feel like I had this premonition or something because I’ve started writing again a day before my One year anniversary here on WordPress. I had a totally different idea about my post but I can’t just let this pass me by.

Some of you may remember but I started not knowing what to write about, I had so many ideas, you see. And wrote this “hello world” post  along with my idea to commit to paper my views on cinema. But after a while I found that it doesn’t really matter. I could write about anything I like and there was no one here to judge me, just the opposite – people on “this Internet” are supportive and I’ve learned so many interesting and unconventional stuff.

Next stop was to give my not-that-good camera to my friend whenever I wanted to share my fashion ideas and then to overcome myself and start posting my so-called art. The more likes and comments I got, the more I was motivated.

I know I’ve stopped blogging for a while and it wasn’t because I didn’t want to, I was just putting all my energy in my career (not that successfully it appears). But I’m not one to be discouraged. And it’s strange how I feel a lot like one year ago – full of ideas and eager to share.

So now I can wish myself a new year with self-developing posts, new ideas and great friends.

And here are some wise words from grumpy cat:

Back in business

Hey there,

I’ve been M.I.A. for the past few months and I’ve missed writing and reading all the super interesting, quirky and intelligent stuff here on WP.

So what I’ve been up to… I changed my job 2 times, I worked my ass off, I’m jobless now, I’ve traveled a bit, met some awesome people, helped my parents open a restaurant, met my new boyfriend, changed my hair (I’m a redhead now), laughed a lot, red great books, saw not so great movies and now my biggest and newest announcement: me and my dad got my mom a puppy. And since they are preoccupied with restaurant mentioned above, I’m the lucky one that gets to spend time with a 1,5kg-three-colored-bonkers-49-days-old Jack Russel Terrier named Milo.

So here he is:

I think I’ll be a little rusty at first, but I’ve gathered so many interesting things that I want to share, that I believe you’ll excuse my absence.

Nice to “see” you all 🙂
