Churchill on my leg

I’ve been thinking about this one for a long time. I even wanted it the last time I had a tattoo but did the Harry Potter one instead. And now it was time to finally do it. I have to say I’m even more happy with the final thing than with the one I envisioned. It’s Churchill, everyone,  and he’s gonna be looking at you every time you’re behind me. And I’m not wearing jeans, that is. Big thanks to Momchil from Anonymoustattoo Sofia.

29 and on fire

I had my birthday on Saturday and I’m officially in my last year beginning with 2. I’m guessing next year I will freak out a bit, but for now I’m feeling great. I got to spent my birthday with most of my loved ones and I had an awesome time. The best thing was my cousin was here and I haven’t spent my birthday with him in quite a while. I got to dance and laugh and eat great food, ok and drink a lot, and that’s how it’s supposed to be. No matter that I’m getting older. The thing is that I had so much fin that I have no photos from the last 3 days. But as I’m still celebrating today at the office I thought it’s time to also share my new fiery hair. Hope you like it!

Holiday “hype”

The holidays are gone, all presents are given, the hype has died out and people, including me, are back to their usual everyday lives. I didn’t update you on my holidays as, well, I just wanted to experience them. The best thing was that Martin was back and we got spent a little time together. I partied a little as you can see from the second photo. We had a blast at our company Christmas party. You can never go wrong with a Great Gatsby team, after all.

Beside that and a few more not so glamorous outings, I spent the holidays on different couches with Martin and Churchill – at home, at my parents and grandparents, at his folks, at a friend’s countryside villa. I just loved the total oblivion of it.

I won’t bother you with New year’s resolutions, as I think the hype should last more that in the short 1 week between Christmas and NYE. And I believe that I don’t need to change with the start of every new year. Change has taken such a big part of my life that I don’t tend to plan it. Life just doesn’t go as you’ve planned it, so I may just as well enjoy the unknown. What about you?

Art vs Hate. Bulgarian graffiti from A to Z: part 4

I just got back from a short holiday in the UK, but more on that in my next post. I was planning on posting the last part of the Alphabetic graffiti exhibition from there. And then tragedy hit all those parts of the world, so I thought it wasn’t the time to talk art. It wasn’t the time to share trivial pictures.

The initial shock has worn off a little and I thought it’s time to write. But I won’t write about politics, about sadness and loss. All of us have read more than enough on that in the past few days. And I myself will continue reading because information is vital in these trying times.

However, I’ve changed my mind on the post. Maybe it’s exactly the time to write about art. Because art is a form of love, the love of beauty, ideas, understanding, tolerance, appreciation and acceptance. And these are the things that will stand up to the black minds all over the world.

So here is the final part of the beautiful graffiti exhibition, which you can still visit till 22.11 in Mall of Sofia:

Bulgarian graffiti from A to Z: part 3

Today I’ll continue with the Alphabet pieces included in the Bulgarian graffiti from A to Z exhibition that will be on till 22.11.

And here are some interesting facts about the Bulgarian language:

1. Bulgarian belongs to the Slavic branch of the Indo-European languages. It is spoken by more than 9.2 million people around the world. Bulgarian language has 3 standardized norms: Bulgarian (official in Bulgaria, using Cyrillic alphabet), Macedonian (official in FYROM, using Cyrillic alphabet) and Banat (spoken by the Banat Bulgarians in the Banat region, in Romania and Serbia, using Latin alphabet).

2. With the accession of Bulgaria to the European Union on 1 January 2007, the Cyrillic script became the third official script of the European Union, following the Latin and Greek scripts.

3. Bulgarian language is the first written Slavic language with its own scripts – Glagolitic alphabet and Cyrillic alphabet. Glagolitic alphabet were invented by Saints Cyril and Methodius.

4. In AD 886, the Bulgarian Empire introduced the Glagolitic alphabet, devised by Saints Cyril and Methodius in the 850s. The Glagolitic alphabet was gradually superseded in later centuries by the Cyrillic script, developed around the Preslav Literary School, Bulgaria at the beginning of the 10th century.
5. And one funny fact: The word такова (takova) is a universal word, usable in place of any other word in Bulgarian language. It is used when the speaker can not think of a better word 🙂

Bulgarian graffiti from A to Z: part 2

I had so much work yesterday that I couldn’t post the next part of the exhibition. And after that I had to move with Churchill to my parent’ as we won’t have a lift for the next 8 days and he shouldn’t be taking the stairs. So I hope you can forgive me the one day delay. These are the next amazing pieces/letters:

Bulgarian graffiti from A to Z: part 1

No matter that I’ve been down with a cold for the past 4 days, yesterday I got up from bed and went to check the opening of this great graffiti exhibition. I just had to see all this talent in one place. It will be on till 22.11 on the second floor of Mall of Sofia. So if you have the opportunity, go and check it out. I’ll post all amazing pieces this week so stay tuned. wpid-wp-1447066387226.jpeg

New tattoo

I’ve been meaning to get a new tattoo for a while and I wanted it to be behind my ear. At first I wanted something else there and because my initial idea will look better if it’s bigger I had to figure out something new for that spot. And when my best friend told me last week that she had the impulsive decision to get a new tattoo and  she had booked an appointment, my thought was – we can go together, that would be perfect! I started looking through minimalist designs and this was my absolute favorite. It’s totally me and I hope you like it. Thanks a lot to Momchil from Anonymous Tattoo and I hope I will be able to share more in a few weeks 🙂

Road tripping art

This past weekend I was be able to combine some of my favorite things – traveling and art. We went to the mountain city of Bansko for a graffiti fest. It was held in a secluded nice hotel in the woods just off the road to the ski slopes. The place has the fitting name “Secret hotel” as we needed around 40 minutes to find it. But it was worth it as we were warmly welcomed by a cool couple. And the next day was the Bansko secret graffiti collaboration – a great event with talanted artists, cool music, beautiful scenery and lots of laughs. Too bad we had to leave on the first day as Martin departed for the Czech republic this morning. I couldn’t take pictures of all the finished pieces but if I get hold of them a second post will follow. In the meantime, enjoy the ones I’ve got and I hope you spot the theme:

Hat craze

I still haven’t shared the photos and experience from my travels from the last few months but I’m experiencing some technical problems… don’t ask. However, I can share with you my new craze-hats. After I cut my hair I found that I like how hats look on me. I even bought 5 or 6 different ones but haven’t wore them more than once. I decided to change that and I think it’s worth it. What do you think:
